A Story of One Patient Taking Lisinopril (Part II)



“Unfortunately, my blood pressure was still out of control. My doctor prescribed me to take 100 mg pills again, I do not know why. After one year I started having difficulty breathing. I thought it was only because of the cold weather.” After starting to experience this side effect she had serious health complications with her tension, so her good friends had to take her to a hospital. Doctors didn’t pay attention to such symptoms as swelling of her gums, lips and tongue. They simple recommended this woman to keep taking Lisinopril.

After that her symptoms were getting worse. She had to call 911 where she got the needed medical help. “The allergy specialist in the hospital told me that this medication was causing all of my health complications, such as swelling and difficulty breathing. This causes me to have serious financial problems because I had to pay for a number of medical bills in the end.” In conclusion, this woman was diagnosed to have angioedema. This is a certain medical condition that results in fast swelling of arms, legs, and other body parts. It is a severe allergic reaction. In some serious case it may even lead to life-threatening health complications. This condition can be results by the intake of Lisinopril.
